Aside from the fact that leaving makeup on your face can result to impurities, it may also cause graver problems. In the case of leaving makeup in your eyes overnight, such carelessness may lead to irritation and likely infection. If you are not sure how to effectively and properly get rid of mascara, eye shadow, eye liners and concealer, below are some tips on how to do it.
If you have applied light makeup, just wash your face with tap water and gently rub your eye lids with mild cleanser or soap which is not creamy. You’ll find that there are cleansers and soaps meant for sensitive skin, dry skin and oily skin so choose the one that suits you.
For heavy eye makeup, it will be wise to rely on a specially formulated makeup removal product. However, remember to use it first prior to washing your face with your regular soap, facial scrub or cleanser.
Some people find baby shampoos efficient in getting rid of eye makeup. They don’t irritate the eyes and they can also remove your mascara in no time.
Use tap water when cleaning your eyelids but you’ll have to wash off the soap or cleanser with lukewarm water to retain moisture. Remember that the corners of your eyes are prone to dryness and slightly warm water can actually moisturize them.
Cold creams are also popular eye makeup removal products. Just apply it on your eye area and then wipe it off with a warm and damp washcloth.
In case you wish to make use of natural makeup remover, try olive oil. It will not only clear the makeup on your eyes but it will also moisturize and condition your eyelashes.
